Open Poetry Competition Anthology Success

Due to an overwhelmingly positive response, within days of its launch, our latest Poetry Anthology's first run has sold out, and is currently being reprinted.

The book, entitled Keeping The Fire Going, features all 70 winning entries in our Open Poetry Competition, alongside a foreword by OPC adjudicator, Hilary Mellon.

Open Poetry Competition Prize-Giving Evening

At The Assembly House this evening we held the prize giving for our Annual Open Poetry Competition.

This year's competition, which had over 600 entries, was adjudicated by Hilary Mellon. The local poet commented on the variety of the poems entered, plus also how much she enjoyed judging the competition.

After the compeition prize-winners were announced, a selection of poems from the Anthology were read aloud by the poets to a packed, and very appreciative, Pierce Room.

Open Poetry Competition Reminder

The closing date - 16th February - for our popular Annual Open Poetry Competition is now only a week away.

Open Poetry Competition Update

Our Annual Open Poetry Competition's closing date is now only a month away. This year's competition closes on the 16th February, and will be judged by local poet Hilary Mellon.

Following the adjudication, a prizegiving evening will then take place on the 20th April at The Assembly House.

The 20th April meeting also sees the launch of the Competition's Anthology, incuding all the winning entries, which will be able to be purchased from the night onwards.

Open Poetry Competition Launched

We have recently launched our Annual Open Poetry Competiton.

The competition - Norwich Writers' Circle's 39th - has the following prizes in the Open Category:

In addition to the above, there are also prizes for Minimalist, Humorous and poems on the theme of The Family.

The competition closes on the 16th February 2010, and this year will be judged by local poet Hilary Mellon.

A prizegiving evening, featuring adjudications and readings, will then take place on the 20th April 2010 at The Assembly House. This evening also sees the launch of the Competition's Anthology, which will be able to be purchased from the night onwards.
